The Riverside Police Division is investigating social media posts threatening violence at Riverside Polytechnic Excessive College.
Whereas the threats haven’t been substantiated, police are working with the varsity administration and district to analyze, the division wrote in an Instagram submit.
“We’ll once more have additional officers and patrols in and round Poly Excessive College this Monday to proceed these ongoing efforts of sustaining the protection of scholars and workers,” it mentioned.
The threats adopted “some fights throughout or close to lunch hour” final week on the faculty, in response to a letter posted on Instagram Saturday by Riverside Unified College District Supt. Renee Hill and college Principal Darel Hansen. “To make sure the continued security and well-being of our faculty neighborhood, extra assist might be offered to Poly Excessive College subsequent week.”
The college administration, they wrote, is “implementing a plan to limit lunch actions to designated areas on campus” with a purpose to “enhance supervision and mitigate potential disruptions.” The restrictions could also be prolonged to different components of the day.
They requested households to keep away from sharing posts and emails with “secondhand info” that might delay the police division’s investigation.
Anybody with info is requested to ahead it to Officer Benjamin Rodriguez at BRodriguez@RiversideCA.gov.
